What is the shelf life of a silicone prototype mold?

It depends on how complicated your mold is and what you are casting into the mold. Certain resins are corrosive and will break a mold down faster.

To properly store your cured silicone, insert a previously cast object into the mold to maintain its shape. If you’re storing a small silicone mold wrap it in a Ziplock bag and press out the air; if you’re storing a large silicone mold, wrap it in a garbage bag and press the excess air out. Then place the bag on a flat surface in a location that’s out of direct sunlight and that’s at a continuous 70-degrees Fahrenheit temperature.
