Yes, clear epoxy glue can yellow if not properly coated with a UV resistant varnish or clear coat when exterior exposure is expected. Epoxy glue is extremely sensitive to the sun’s UV rays. This means if you used it for an exterior repair, they can yellow if they are exposed to direct sunlight. The reason clear epoxy glue turns yellow when exposed to UV lights, and even indoor fluorescent lighting, is because the UV light breaks down the epoxy polymers. When this happens, your clear epoxy coating will begin to turn a yellowish hue and can begin to break down over time. This is why applying a UV resistant top coat as soon as the epoxy is cured is your best bet to ensure a beautiful project for years to come.
