While some silicone kits may be best for molding plastic figurines or mechanical parts, others work well with pourable fine grade plaster. Silicone putty can be useful for processes like molding a horse’s hoof or taking impressions for paleontology studies. like a horse’s hoof.

The AM 128 RTV Silicone Rubber is our most popular liquid silicone for molds. It’s durable and tear-resistant, and perfect for those heavy duty jobs. You can also use the brushable variant for projects that might require vertical cling.

The AM 115T is translucent, so it’s perfect for those jobs that you need a little extra visibility on.

AeroMarine Silicone Accelerator is ideal when you need to speed up the time it takes for your DIY silicone mold making rubber to cure, Only for use with the 10:1 Tin Based silicones.

If you’re working with a project requiring enhanced detail, the Silicone Oil Thinner is perfect for making the AM128 Pourable and AM115T silicones for mold making better at getting into those nooks and crannies. Add Silicone Thickener to your AM128 Pourable and AM115T silicones, if your project has some tricky sides that don’t require a full kit of AM128 Brushable Silicone.

For projects where you need to take an impression to fill in later with plaster or urethane resin, we offer a fast-drying Platinum based Silicone Rubber Putty Silicone Rubber Putty.

Are all options of liquid silicone safe for food applications?

Unfortunately, not all liquid silicone rubber molding is suitable for use with food. If you’re making molds that you plan on using for food (like chocolate molds fondants, sugar casts, or even ice trays) you’ll want to check out our Food Grade Silicone Rubber. It’s FDA-approved and specifically developed for use with consumable materials.
